Planning and research is under way for the Sylvan Glen Bridge Replacement project. The Municipality of Port Hope is currently undertaking a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA). The Sylvan Glen Bridge is located on Sylvan Glen Road approximately 0.7 km south of 4th Line Road at the Ganaraska River. The study includes a review of structure replacement alternatives, and associated potential impacts on the study area environment.
Subject to comments received and necessary approvals, the Municipality intends to proceed with the planning, design, and construction of this project.

Project Commencement
Sylvan Glen Road will close on Monday, July 24th, 2023 to begin in-water work for the bridge replacement project. This closure includes the Bridge, the Sylvan Glen Conservation Area and access to the Ganaraska Hiking Trail, located on the north side of the Bridge.
Detour routes, which include Dale Road, Highway 28, and 4th Line, will be posted on-site for this road closure, while the Bridge replacement construction is taking place. Area residents will also receive a written notice of the work. For full details, please read our Public Notice.
