We are planning significant infrastructure improvements on Rose Glen Road to address important active transportation needs. This will include new traffic signals at Croft Street and Rose Glen Road, a multi-use path to accommodate cyclists and pedestrians along the west/south side, and a sidewalk for pedestrians along the east/north side of the road. Rose Glen Road is a key link in the community’s transportation system serving as the main access to businesses, schools, long term care facilities, parks, and individual homes. In its current form, Rose Glen Road is predominately suited to accommodating vehicles only and with the proposed improvements pedestrians, cyclists and other non-vehicular modes can safely be accommodated.
Background
In 2021, the Municipality of Port Hope engaged CIMA+ to complete the detailed design for the proposed Rose Glen Road reconstruction and widening from 125 m north of Ward Street (Trinity College School Entrance) to Philips Road (Rose Glen Road Extension).

Project Timelines
The design portion of the project began in 2021 and concluded in the spring of 2022. At the May 17 Council Meeting, Council considered a staff report and awarded the contract to Behan Construction. Construction began on Monday, June 20, 2022 and is anticipated to last five months.
Project Progression
Rose Glen Road is now open to through traffic. Expect delays while driving through the area as there are still tasks to be completed by sub-contractors.
